There is never going to be a book that you pick up, read, and then poof you become a profitable trader. I remember watching hours of golf swing tutorials on YouTube, only to go out to the course and shoot a 110. It wasn’t until I developed a good practice routine and really put in the time that I started to see real improvement in my game.
Trading is very much the same way. Information overload is a real thing when it comes to trading. Sometimes taking in too much information does nothing but cloud your decision-making especially if you don’t already have a defined strategy that you’ve backtested.
Nevertheless, here is a three-book series I recommend all beginner traders read before they place a single trade. Even after reading these books, you’ll still need to spend time developing a strategy with clear goals before you go squandering your hard-earned money.
Remember, there are very smart people out there who do this for a living. They will take your money and not bat an eye. Just like in golf, it’s important to learn the fundamentals, but you’re still going to have to put in the work to develop your own style and gain real experience. Let this book series help you with those fundamentals—but remember, experience comes with time and reps.
